Rapidly Deployable Intrusion Detection

Detection that has to wait for a permanent design phase isn't protecting anything in the meantime. GSS fields intrusion detection fast, then holds it to a permanent standard.

OPERATIONAL CONTEXT

The gap between the vulnerability and the fix is where risk lives

A vulnerability identified in an assessment, a construction laydown area, a temporary boundary, a system down for maintenance — each creates a window where detection coverage doesn't match the site's actual risk. That window is usually closed with a compensatory measure, and the quality of that measure is rarely questioned the way a permanent system's design is.

GSS treats rapidly deployable IDS as an engineered system, not a stopgap. Detection technology is matched to the terrain and the threat: buried line sensors and fence-mounted sensors for the perimeter itself, microwave and taut-wire for open ground and constrained approaches, thermal and CCD cameras for assessment once an alarm activates. The combination is selected for the site, not issued from a standard kit.

The same systems that go in fast can stay in permanently, up to and including PIDAS-capable configurations, or come down cleanly once the underlying condition is resolved. Either way, the detection probability and nuisance-alarm rate are documented against the regulatory requirement the deployment is standing in for.

METHODOLOGY
01Vulnerability & Terrain ReviewThe gap driving the deployment, and the ground it has to be detected across.
02Sensor SelectionBuried, fence-mounted, microwave, and taut-wire technology matched to terrain and threat.
03Assessment DesignThermal and CCD camera coverage aligned to sensor zones for alarm assessment.
04Rapid DeploymentInstallation and commissioning on a compressed timeline as an interim measure.
05Performance TestingDetection probability and nuisance-alarm rate validated against requirements.
06Transition DecisionSystem is stood down, held as interim, or converted to a permanent installation.
